The first thing you’ll need to know, regarding how to change the menu music in Smash Ultimate, is what sub-menu to find it in. Everytime you unlock a new track through playing one of the game’s modes, it’ll be stored in your vault. To access your vault, Click on the “Vault” link from the main menu, and head into the “Sounds” sub-section.

From here, you can alter what music and other sounds you want to hear whilst you play. You will, however, notice that the option to change the menu music in Smash Ultimate is locked at the beginning, and for some time after depending on what mode you’ve played. So what gives?

You’ll need to complete one of the game’s biggest modes – Adventure Mode or World of Light Mode – to unlock the option to change the menu music in Smash Ultimate. You’ll need to get a 100% completion rate in either of these game types to make musical changes and, given that it can take some time to do this, you may have to wait a while to unlock it.

Once you do, you’ll be able to select what tracks to play whilst you game. To do this, head back to the “Sound” sub-menu in your vault, and click on the “My Music” section. You can then decide which music plays whilst you’re in the menu, as well as the frequency with which you hear certain tracks while you battle it out in various stages.
