Fallout 76 Can't Scrap Water Purifier

Fallout 76 Can’t Scrap Water Purifier in CAMP – Is There a Fix?

If you’re getting a “Cannot place item: Unspecified error occurred” message in Fallout 76, then you’re going to have a bad time. That’s because you’re probably suffering with the Fallout 76 can’t scrap water purifier bug in your CAMP. So, if you can’t remove it, you’re probably on the hunt for a Fallout 76 water purifier scrap fix. About that…

What is the Fallout 76 Can’t Scrap Water Purifier in CAMP Bug?

Simply put, Fallout 76 is gonna Fallout 76. Since the 1.04 update, players have not been able to scrap industrial water purifiers, which take up a decent chunk of the CAMP budget. More often than not, you’ll get the bolded error above and the water purifier will still take up two percent of your space. It’s a pretty rough deal, all told.

How to Fix the Fallout 76 Can’t Scrap Water Purifier in CAMP Bug

Would you look at that, there isn’t a fix, at least not conventionally. You should absolutely stop buying water purifiers until the next patch hits, that much is for certain, but you’re going to have to grin and bear it for the time being.

However, there is a tiny ray of light: Bethesda is aware of the issue and, according to a post by the Community Manager on Reddit, the studio is “working to resolve this.” If you want an official fix you need to do one of two things.

  1. Wait for a new patch. December 18 is the next possible date, but it isn’t looking likely what with it being the pre-holiday rush. Instead, you’re probably looking at a 2019 date for a fix now.
  2. Click “Subscribe to article” at the bottom of the official Bethesda page above so, in the off-chance there is a fix, you’ll be one of the first to know.

You can try a few common workarounds- moving your CAMP, logging out after scrapping everything else, and spam pressing the scrap button on the Fallout 76 water purifier- for now, though you’re unlikely to see much traction. Still, knowing this game, you might get lucky.
