Is There a Tekken 7 Switch Release?

Although Tekken 7 saw release on PS4, Xbox One, and PC back in 2017, a Tekken 7 Switch port has not yet seen the light of day. Will we ever see Tekken 7 on Nintendo Switch? Why hasn’t it been released yet? Read on to find out the answers to all of this and more.

Is Tekken 7 on Switch?

As of writing, Tekken 7 is not on the Nintendo Switch. It was originally released on PS4, Xbox One, and PC in June of 2017. At the time, when asked as to why it isn’t on Switch, Katsuhiro Harada (series producer) told Gamespot that Bandai Namco was “so busy with trying to master up Tekken for the current platforms that [it]” hasn’t “had enough time to study the hardware.” Harada added that the development team “couldn’t even buy [the Nintendo Switch]… it was sold out” everywhere.

Tekken 7 on Switch – Will it Ever Release?

With the Switch in more plentiful supply these days, Harada and his fellow development team should have been able to buy one by now. There is still no sign of a Tekken 7 Switch port, however. Despite this, Harada took to the Kuro Kuro Japan Twitch channel to explain the development woes of Tekken X Street Fighter. Alongside saying that Tekken X Street Fighter is still in development but pending, Harada spoke on a potential Tekken 7 Switch port.

He explained that a Switch port of Tekken 7 could see release; that’s if there is enough demand from fans. The takeaway here? Write Bandai Namco and explain that you’d love to see Tekken 7 on Switch. If enough of us let the company know, then it could happen. If you want the game, let your voice be heard on any form of social media you can think of, and cross your fingers.
