New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe Frosted Glacier Swaying Ghost House – All Star Coins and Secret Exit location

The New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe Frosted Glacier Swaying Ghost House level is undoubtedly one of the trickiest customers when it comes to finding all three Star Coins. It’s probably the reason why you’re missing World 4 Star Coins, let’s be honest. There’s also the small matter of the World 4 Secret Exit tucked away in its maze-like halls. But don’t fret: we’ll guide you through screen by spooky screen and direct you to the Swaying Ghost House Star Coins and Secret Exit location in New Super Mario Bros U. Deluxe. Phew. That’s a mouthful.

First screen: You can grab the first Star Coin almost immediately in World 4’s Swaying Ghost House.

Avoid the Boo and hit the P-Switch. From there, jump back and drop down to the left side of the rectangle. If you’re quick, you’ll be able to walk straight through the left-hand side of the rectangle, then drop down and grab the first Star Coin. You’ve then got to exit through the furthest door on the left, which has now been opened up after the P-Switch turned the blocks into coins.

Second screen: Jump across the gap with the purple-striped pole and make your way through the top door on the right.

Third screen: Time to hit another P-Switch. Again, avoid the Boo and make your way over to the right of the screen. Once you hit the switch, quickly make your way to the bottom door on the left, just under where you came in.

Fourth screen: A bit of precise platforming is required here. Press the P-Switch and immediately start running to the right, taking care to jump over two sets of Boos on your way. At the very end of the room you can use the blocks you’ve been chasing as a makeshift staircase to go up and collect the second Star Coin. Head through the door.

Fifth screen/third screen: Confused? You’re back at the third screen. Hit the P-Switch yet again but, instead of going bottom left, use the moving platform to walk through the wall in the bottom right to uncover a secret door which you need to go through.

Sixth screen: It’s P-Switch time yet again. Jump on it and ignore all available doors. Instead, walk through the wall on the bottom right of the screen and go through that door.

Seventh screen: Before you smack that P-Switch, be sure to grab two or three consecutive coins. This will come in handy in just a second.

Press the P-Switch and jump onto the platform made of blocks. Keep jumping and stay central; use the blue coins to guide you. Once you’ve kept jumping, you’ll come across a green door. Ignore that and keep jumping and, directly above the green door, is a wall which you can jump through. Of course, there’s a door. Go through it.

Eighth screen: Nearly done, I promise. Press the P-Switch and hightail it to the very right of the room. Once you see the green door, wall jump above it using the blocks and grab the third Star Coin. Exit through the green door and give yourself a pat on the back at a job well done.

New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe Frosted Glacier Swaying Ghost House – Secret Exit Location

The Frosted Glacier Swaying Ghost House Secret Exit location is, helpfully enough, (depending on how you view it) situated on the same path as the Star Coins. Follow the walkthrough above and then, when you exit the eighth screen through the green door, jump over the question mark blocks and make your way towards the Bowser end-of-level flagpole and jump on it. That’s it.

Once you leave the level, you’ll be met by a short scene in which new tracks are laid down in World 4 which gives you a shortcut out of the world and a path to the World 4 secret level Fliprus Lake. Complete that and you’ll be presented by a train ride out of World 4, which is nice. And all you had to do was tear your hair out in frustration in a mansion full of ghosts and P-Switches to get there. Nice.
