Another day, another update for Call of Duty Black Ops 4. Among the seemingly endless bevy of updates and patches to Black Ops 4, some of the more eagle-eyed players have spotted a Black Ops 4 new pistol. It looks as though Treyarch has stealthily added in a new pistol as part of the latest update. Read on to find out what the Black Ops 4 KAP-45 is.
Part of the brand-new Black Ops 4 Black Market LTM Barbarians, the KAP-45 can be unlocked through playing the game. It should hopefully prove to be a capable weapon, if its Black Ops 2 KAP-40 predecessor is anything to go by. Black Ops 4 new pistol | What is the KAP-45?
The recently revealed KAP-45 is something of a throwback to the simpler times of Black Ops 2. In that game, the KAP-40 tore down all we thought we knew about the automatic pistol. Dual-wielding those bad boys was arguably the way to go ahead of any automatic rifle or SMG. Now, it looks as though they are back (although sadly, not in PoG form).
Thanks to this Reddit thread, we know a little bit about the KAP-45. It is a fully-automatic pistol for starters, just as the KAP-40 was in Black Ops 2. It sports a rather funky design, too, with a large plate underneath its barrel, leaving plentiful room for those wishing to add home-made decals. Based on the short gameplay clip, however, we are only shown the character holding and firing a single KAP-45. It is as yet unknown if we can dual-wield the KAP-45.
The KAP-45 is technically a secondary weapon, but that doesn’t mean it’s not powerful enough to have equipped as your primary firepower. Thanks to its lightning-quick fire-rate coupled with high damage output, the KAP-45 could very well be your go-to weapon in Black Ops 4. As of writing, there are eight attachments for the KAP-45, too. These are as follows:
- Fast Mags
- FMJ
- Grip
- High Caliber
- Hybrid Mags
- Rapid Fire
- Rapid Fire 2
- Stock

Black Ops 4 new pistol | How to unlock the KAP-45
You can unlock the KAP-45, but not, unfortunately, for use in Blackout. As of writing, it is only available to unlock and use in Multiplayer. To do this, you’ll have to take part in the Black Ops 4 Barbarian Special Event content stream. This began on January 22, 2019 (on PS4, January 29, 2019 on Xbox One and PC). To access the Barbarian Special Event simply head into the Black Market. Once inside, jump into the Contraband section. Here you will see that there are 25 tiers you can unlock through playing Black Ops 4.
You will unlock the KAP-45 by reaching Tier 25 of the Barbarian Special Event content stream. That’s right. The 25th and final Tier level of the Special Event. Unfortunately, there is a time limit in which you can do this. You will only have until February 28, 2019 to unlock everything there is in the Barbarian content stream on all consoles. This, of course, includes the KAP-45. This means you’ll have to play around 25 hours of Black Ops 4 Multiplayer, or pay to level up through the Tiers (around $1 a Tier).
