Resident Evil 2 Treasure Photo locations

Resident Evil 2 Hiding Place film locations | Treasure Hunter guide

If you’re struggling to track down the Resident Evil 2 Hiding Place film locations, then you’ve come to the right place. Whether you’re simply looking for a quick route to complete the Treasure Hunter Trophy and Achievement on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One/PC, respectively, or actively trying to uncover all secrets within the remake (albeit with a little help from your friends here at GR), this guide is here to offer the solution you desire. The Resident Evil 2 remake is as much a puzzle game as it is a horror title, and sometimes the former aspect can become a little overwhelming. So, let’s first dive into where you can find the single Hiding Place film roll, which you can then develop to discover the two treasure locations.

To be able to access the Hiding Place Film Roll location, you will first need to have made your way into the Sewers portion of the game. This is a decent chunk of the way into the game.

Once you’ve entered the sewer, keep an eye out for the Workroom, which is on the Upper floor, close to the Workers’ Break Room and Water Injection Chamber. Do note that you’ll need to the T-Bar Valve Handle to access the route towards the Workroom.

The Hiding Place Film Roll can be found in the center of the room, sitting on a table. Pick it up and you’ll see the “Hiding Places” text scribbled on it. Once developed, this film shows the location of two places within the RPD station where additional loot can now be found.

The top image shows Hiding Place 1. If you want to get the Lightning Hawk Red Dot Sight for Leon, or MQ11 High-Capacity Mag for Claire, you’ll need to head back to the STARS office. This is on the second floor, west of the Main Hall.

If you want the Treasure Hunter Trophy or Achievement, heading back to the STARS Hiding Place is a no-brainer. However, for those that simply want the easiest route to the end of the game, it might be worth measuring up whether the trip back to the RPD station is worth the loot granted!

The bottom image shows Hiding Place 2. The loot gifted by this location is much less exciting than the rewards offered by Hiding Place 1. Leon can get some Fuel for his Chemical Flamethrower, while Claire can get some Needle Cartridges for her Spark Shot.

Hunting this Hiding Place down will take you to the Press Room, which is on the first floor of the RPD, and east of the Main Hall.

Where to develop Film Rolls in Resident Evil 2 remake

If you have yet to develop any Film Rolls in Resident Evil 2, you’ll want to familiarize yourself with the Dark Room. Boasting both an Item Box and Typewriter, the Dark Room is a location that you likely visited pretty early on into your playthrough. It’s on the first floor of the RPD, west of the Main Hall.

It’s possible that some players could miss the development part of the Dark Room, as it actually has its own doorway. You’ll want to head into that part and activate the prompt. This will open the player inventory and allow for a Film Roll to be selected. Ensure you remember this location, not only for the Hiding Places Film Roll, but for the various other Film Rolls that you’ll come across as both Claire and Leon.

Fast Way to earn Resident Evil 2 Treasure Hunter Trophy and Achievement

If you’re looking for a fast way to get the Treasure Hunter Trophy and Achievement, you’ll first want to get to the Sewers part of the game, grab the Workroom Film Roll as detailed above, and then head back to the RPD. Once there, you’ll need to develop the film in the Dark Room, go up the nearby stairs and the around the corner to the STARS office. A quick route back to the Main Hall can be found by heading through the Lounge. Once in the Main Hall, go to the lower floor and head to the Press Room, grabbing the second bit of loot and then heading back on your quest.
