Apex Legends Lifeline Guide | How to play Lifeline

Like to help people? Our Apex Legends Lifeline guide is here to help you figure out how to be the best combat medic in the game! Lifeline is great for keeping your team alive proactively and in the heat of the moment, but it can be a little tricky to get the hang of her at first.

Apex Legends Lifeline guide | Tips and Tricks

Lifeline is, first and foremost, a medic. Most of her abilities focus on healing and supporting her team. If you’re the type of person who loves to run around the map and get a bunch of kills, Lifeline might not be the best choice for you.

In short: Lifeline is not a frontline fighter. You should keep her to the rear of your formation whenever possible, always providing support from a distance. Her abilities allow her to heal her teammates and quickly revive them if they go down, and a valuable toolset like that should be protected.

Finally, play with a medic’s mindset. You can heal people faster, so always top off your team’s health with your D.O.C. Heal Drone. You can revive faster, so always go to revive your buddy rather than chase after the enemy. Treat Lifeline like a long-term investment: play her cautiously and wisely. She can be the key to victory.

D.O.C. Heal Drone (Tactical Ability)

The D.O.C. (Drone of Compassion) Heal Drone is going to be your go-to ability most of the time. The D.O.C. Heal Drone is deployed and then can connect to yourself or one of your teammates to gradually heal them up. Essentially, the D.O.C. Heal Drone is an adorable floating health pack with a 60-second cooldown. While this is certainly a useful ability, it’s by no means a replacement for regular healing items.

You can use the D.O.C. Heal Drone to restore health in the middle of a firefight, but don’t forget to use it on your downtime. If someone’s health is low, pop your drone so they can top things off. It’s free healing, so why not use it as often as you can?

As for yourself, don’t forget that a combat medic’s first job is to stay alive so they can heal everybody else. If you take some hits, get into cover and use your drone to get some health back while you fire back at your opponent. If your allies go down, you can always pick them back up with your Combat Medic passive.

Combat Medic (Passive Ability)

Reviving a downed teammate is always a risky proposition, especially in the middle of a firefight. Deciding whether to revive someone or fight back is always a difficult choice, but Lifeline makes that choice a little bit easier with her Combat Medic Passive Ability. The most obvious advantage of Combat Medic is the big honking shield that protects you. Make sure you position yourself carefully so that the shield gives you the best possible cover. I’ve seen more than a few Lifeline players stop and start reviving multiple times so that they can get the best defensive angle on the shield.

Combat Medic also lets you use healing items 25% faster. This is just another way that it’s easier for Lifeline to keep herself alive. Although she only has defensive or supporting abilities, she can easily bring both of her teammates back up very quickly.

Care Package (Ultimate Ability)

Care Package is a godsend, especially if you’re in need of some good equipment. Once Lifeline has her ultimate fully charged, she can call down a drop pod that will have a bunch of nice defensive items in it. This is one of those ultimate abilities that you should use as soon as you get it and can safely bring the Care Package down.

Moreover, there are some ways to charge up your ultimate faster in Apex Legends. The Ultimate Accelerant item, in particular, can get you a whopping 20 percent added to your charge in seven seconds. If you come across one of these items and you have someone playing Lifeline on your team, you should strongly consider giving her the Ultimate Accelerant. A few pieces of high-quality gear can be invaluable when it comes to surviving the next intense firefight. If you take away anything from our Apex Legends Lifeline guide, make it this: always give Lifeline any Ultimate Accelerant you find. It will be worth it in the long run.

Apex Legends Lifeline guide | Best team comp for Lifeline

Apex Legends Lifeline guide

Team composition in Apex Legends is something that is stressed at multiple points in the game. Picking three Legends who have synergy and work well together is preferable to picking three Legends at random. So, what’s the best team comp for Lifeline?

From the perspective of someone wanting to play Lifeline, she can fit into pretty much every team composition as a defensive player. It’s hard to argue with free healing, faster and safer revives, and the occasional box full of goodies. You’re inevitably going to hit a point where you’re low on health and with no restorative items—you’ll certainly be wishing that you had Lifeline on your team then.

As for her teammates, keep in mind that Lifeline’s abilities focus on defense and support. The best way to have a balanced team is to either go more offense or more defense. If you pick someone like Gibraltar, you’ll be able to have a team of Legends that can dig into a position and be very difficult to take down. Conversely, taking on someone like Bangalore will bring more offensive power to the team and compensate for Lifeline’s lack in that area.
