While The Division 2 launch has gone relatively smoothly, it hasn’t passed by without a few scrapes and bruises along the way. There is a The Division 2 A Friend in Need Trophy not working bug. Many players who have fulfilled the checklist to unlock the A Friend in Need Achievement have found that it doesn’t unlock. This isn’t ideal for all you Trophy and Achievement hunters out there. Read on to discover whether or not there is a fix for the annoying bug.
The Division 2 A Friend in Need Trophy Not Working | What’s the issue?
As stated above, for many players (not all), the A Friend in Need Trophy/Achievement isn’t unlocking when it should. Plenty of The Division 2 players have found it impossible to unlock the Trophy/Achievement, despite doing exactly what the game tells them to.
In order to earn the Trophy or Achievement, you are meant to respond to a call for help and revive the agent. The trouble is, players are doing exactly that and the Achievement/Trophy isn’t unlocking. It should work the other way around, too. If you get downed, you can either choose to respawn or call for backup. If you choose to call for backup and help arrives, proceeding to revive you, you should unlock the Trophy. This is working for some, but for many, it seems no matter what they try, they cannot unlock the Achievement/Trophy.
The Division 2 A Friend in Need Trophy Not Working | Is there a fix?
According to this official support forum thread, Ubisoft is aware of the Achievement/Trophy not unlocking as it should. An official fix should come as part of a future update, but this could happen at any time, unfortunately.
Despite the lack of an official fix via an update as of writing, however, several people have claimed to provide workarounds. The best bit of advice we’ve got is to try the ways to unlock the Trophy listed above. If these don’t work, try this out:
- Answer a call for backup from an already downed player
- Join their group
- Revive them before they either choose to respawn or their timer runs out
That should hopefully work for you. If it doesn’t, keep trying it out. You could try this technique out, too, however. The Trophy/Achievement is clearly broken, though, so it’s more likely that you aren’t doing anything wrong. Try the workarounds listed, if they don’t work, you’re going to have to hope that the next patch fixes A Friend in Need for good.
