Pokemon Go Bug Themed Event | Field Research

The Pokemon Go bug themed event, unsurprisingly, will consist of players having to go out into the wild and find bug-type Pokemon to help Professor Willow with his research. As such, bug-type Pokemon like Scyther, Cascoon, and many others will spawn more regularly for you to encounter and potentially catch.

Limited-time field research will be available for you to take part in too. As always, you’ll have to spin the discs at PokeStops in order to unlock these tasks, and completing them will earn you specific rewards. Niantic hasn’t disclosed what these are yet though.

Finally, Incense will last twice as long as it normally does. Incense is used in-game as a lure to bring nearby Pokemon out of hiding, and allow you to have the chance to catch them. With the duration of Incense being extended, you’ll have more time to catch those critters you’re missing from your Pokedex, and more will spawn in your vicinity too.
