Another week means another batch of Fortnite weekly challenges, we’re now on the Fortnite Season 8 Week 5 challenges. Everyone will be trying to complete the seven challenges before the week 6 challenges go live, so if you’re after a head-start over the opposition, this is the place to be. Our Fortnite Season 8 Week 5 challenges cheat sheet will let you in on all you need to know about how to complete each and every challenge this week. Whether you’re looking to complete a lap of the Race Track in Happy Hamlet or search chests at Paradise Palms or Shifty Shafts, this is the guide for you. Don’t fret:We’ve done this for both Free and Battle Pass challenges.
As ever, you will need to finish a match before anything counts towards challenge completion progress. You cannot find and open a chest and then quit, for example. You will need to either win or be killed before anything counts. Completing four of the seven challenges will bag you a prize. You’ll earn yourself a cool 5,000 XP and the latest Discovery Banner loading screen, which you can see above, for doing so.
Fortnite Season 8 Week 5 Challenges Cheat Sheet | Deal Damage with Scoped Weapons to opponents

The first of the trio offree challenges this week should be easy enough to complete. All you need to do is find and equip a Scoped Weapon (any of them will do) and deal 200 damage to opponents. There are plenty of Scoped Weapons to find, including the Heavy Sniper. Keep your eyes peeled for anything called Scoped, or anything with a scope attached.
Completing this challenge will net you a cool five Battle Stars.
Fortnite Season 8 Week 5 Challenges Cheat Sheet | Search chests at Paradise Palms or Shifty Shafts

The second of the free Season 8 Week 5 challenges has you searching and opening seven treasure chests in either Paradise Palms or Shifty Shafts. Again, it should be an easy enough challenge to complete, as there are plenty of chests to go around with everyone. Remember to look out for other players, though, as they’ll be looking to open the treasure chests before you do.
You should find all the chests you require if you look thoroughly through everywhere. You’ll get five Battle Stars for your troubles if you complete this one.
Fortnite Season 8 Week 5 Challenges Cheat Sheet | Complete a lap of the Race Track in Happy Hamlet

The last of the three free Fortnite Season 8 Week 5 challenges asks you to complete one lap of the Race Track in Happy Hamlet. In order to complete this challenge, you will need to find the Happy Hamlet Race Track location, which we’ve handily circled in the map above. You will find the beginning of the race track just to the north-west of Happy Hamlet.
You will likely use a Baller to complete this challenge, as there are plenty of the things waiting to be used at this new Race Track. Hop inside one and wait for the countdown to end, this is when the race begins. Simply follow the Race Track through the large glowing rings until it finishes. If you struggle to complete the lap, keep trying until you finish it. Completing this challenge awards you with 10 Battle Stars.
Fortnite Season 8 Week 5 Challenges Cheat Sheet | Get 15 bounces in a single throw with the Bouncy Ball toy

Now we’re into the Battle Pass challenges and things are starting to look a little more difficult. In order to complete this challenge, you will need to have unlocked the Bouncy Ball toy. You unlock the Bouncy Ball toy at Tier level 26 of the Season 8 Battle Pass, which you may well have done by this point.
Once you have unlocked the Bouncy Ball toy, equip it to your emote wheel. You will need to make it bounce 15 times with one throw in order to complete this challenge and earn the five Battle Stars. We’d recommend heading into a small enclosed space and letting rip. The ball should bounce off every wall, ceiling, and floor multiple times if the room is small enough.
Fortnite Season 8 Week 5 Challenges Cheat Sheet | Stage 1 of 3: Gain shields from Mushrooms

The only multiple stage challenge of the Season 8 Week 5 challenges is a tricky one. The three stages are as follows:
- Stage 1: Gain Shields from Mushrooms (50)
- Stage 2: Gain Shields from Small Shield Potions (100)
- Stage 3: Gain Shields from Shield Potions (100)
You will need to find and use all of the items above in order to complete this challenge. Small and regular Shield Potions are common items that you’ll find in floor loot and chests, but Mushrooms are a little harder to find. You will find them in forest areas of the Fortnite map (where you will see pine trees). Simply find and use the three items above (in order) enough until you make 50, 100, and then 100 again Shield for yourself. You should get a Battle Star for each Stage completed.
Fortnite Season 8 Week 5 Challenges Cheat Sheet | Use a Volcano Vent, a zipline, and a vehicle in the same match

This challenge may well prove to be the most difficult to complete. You will need to use a Volcano Vent, a zipline, and a vehicle all in the same match in order to complete the challenge and earn yourself 10 Battle Stars.
We’d recommend heading over to the volcano in the north-east of the Fortnite map to find and use a Volcano Vent. Although you will also find a few scattered around Fatal Fields. You should also find ziplines and vehicles around the base of the Volcano, too. Hopefully, you’ll be able to do this in one if you drop around that location.
Fortnite Season 8 Week 5 Challenges Cheat Sheet | Eliminate opponents at Pirate Camps

In order to complete this challenge, you will need to eliminate three other players at Pirate Camps. You likely won’t need to head to three different Pirate Camps to complete the challenge, either. You should just be able to find one of the seven Pirate Camps and eliminate three players at one of them. Given how everyone will be heading to the Pirate Camps, there should be plenty of opponents to eliminate at all of them. We’ve highlighted the seven Pirate Camp locations above. Completing this challenge will award you 10 Battle Stars.
Fortnite Game Changing Pickups

Fortnite's 10 Game Changing Pickups
So, you're dropping into Tilted Towers and you need a game changer. Something that will ensure that your next match is memorable. Fortnite has had plenty of these types of items in its brief history, and here are the most devastating. See any of these on the field, and you better run. -
Crossbow
Originally themed for Valentines Day, the crossbow was a devastating sniper rifle even without its fancy skin. A high damage output even on Rare difficulty and five shots to a clip made it a sharpshooters dream, and eventually led to it being vaulted in May of 2018. -
Drum Gun
A hybrid of a Rifle and Machine Gun, the Drum Gun brought a 1920s flair to Junk Junction. It proved to be deadly accurate in the hands of players at close range, even after a round of significant nerfs. Two months after its initial debut, it was curtains for this Tommy. -
Guided Missile
The preferred tool of any rocket rider, the Guided Missile lets you root out camping opponents and sail into the skies of victory. A devastating and rare munition, the Guided Missile saw two tours of duty in the fields of Fortnite. As of now, it's still available to mess around with in Playground mode. -
Infinity Blade
Originating in Epic's hit trilogy of mobile games, this mythic sword only lasted for four days before being banished to the Vault. It powered up players and granted them extra health, creating an in-game boss fight. In the end, it did its job just a bit too well. -
Infinity Gauntlet
A purposefully limited time item, this Marvel Comics artifact turned its wielder into Thanos. His mighty punch, energy blast, and insane leaping ability made players quake in fear during his summer stint in the battle royale. Let's hope he finds other worlds to conquer for the sequel. -
Jetpack
Nothing changes a shooter quite like added mobility. Dodge out of sniper fire and root out towers of foes with the Jetpack, a limited time only Legendary backpack. Aeronauts with enough skill can negate any crafty builders and land the last few kills with pinpoint accuracy. -
Mounted Turret
A turret sequence in most shooters is a drag, but a well executed run with the Mounted Turret can be a thrill. This legendary trap is deployable anywhere there's a flat surface and spurts out infinite ammo as long as you mind the heat and don't take enough damage. -
Remote Explosives
It makes sense that a game partially about building would also have some C4 to even the odds, but the Remote Explosives were too much for their own good. Able to rip apart strategies at a distance and coming in bundles of three, most players don't miss these server bombs. -
Thermal Scoped Assault Rifle
Able to pick out enemies and loot with ease, the Thermal Scoped Assault Rifle is the current best weapon if you're looking to charge an opposing team. Just be sure to account for its high recoil, lest you be staring into the sun as you take a fatal blow. -
Zapotron
One of the original vaulted weapons in Fortnite's battle royale mode, the Zapotron was an electrified sniper rifle that decimated groups of enemies from afar. It has a great design but doesn't really fit with the rest of the game's more authentic arsenal. Still, don't wear a lightning rod if we ever see this weapon again.
