MK11 Servers Down | Are Mortal Kombat 11 servers down?

The “Mortal Kombat 11 servers down” message isn’t the first thing you want to see once you load up the game. After all, the Kombat League just launched and most of the game requires an internet connection. So are MK11 servers down? Or is it just you?

Are the Mortal Kombat 11 servers down?

Yes, the MK11 servers are down for some on Xbox One (on March 17). While this isn’t server maintenance, some players can’t find matches. WB Games has responded to this issue on Twitter but there is currently no ETA for the fix. It also appears to be affecting both kasual and ranked matches. Thankfully, there’s no Kombat League season currently going on.

What can I do when the MK11 servers are down?

Figuring out what to play in Mortal Kombat 11 during the server outage is going to be quite tricky since a lot of the game is tied to an internet connection. You can’t play the Towers of Time, Krypt, online, or AI Battles when the servers are down. This will mean you can mess around in the practice modes, solo campaign, Klassic Towers, and, well, menus. Even though there are plenty of single-player modes, much of it require an online connection. NetherRealm has said it was because of the game’s economy and how it doles out rewards.

How to fix MK11 servers down error

MK11 Servers Down

While this is server maintenance on NetherRealm’s side, Mortal Kombat 11 has been hit with unplanned server issues before. However, this doesn’t always mean that there’s a problem with the game. If you’re having problems with the game’s online mode outside of its planned maintenance today, it doesn’t necessarily mean the servers are down. What you want to do first is to reset your router. Doing this is basically a catch-all solution for many problems. Similar to the good old advice of turning your computer off and on again.

If resetting your router still doesn’t give you access to the MK11 servers then it is possible they are down. Unfortunately, there isn’t much you can do yourself to fix it. Your best bet is to look for answers online from official sources. The Mortal Kombat 11 support forums are likely the best place to look first. Here you can see if anyone else has reported the issue and create a post yourself if not.

As well as the game’s forums, the social media for Mortal Kombat 11 is another place where you can find out up-to-date information about the game. Studios will often post about server downtime or other game issues to its social media, as it is the quickest way to get information out to as many players as possible.
