Matchmaking highlights

There’s only one significant highlight of the For Honor 2.09 update patch notes when it comes to matchmaking, and that’s the adjustment to the game’s matchmaking parameter. This has been reverted to the system that the game had before 2.06, as the more recent implementation has been causing Skill Rating to take longer to stabilize.

The developer states that the changes made to the Skill Rating “did not improve matchmaking quality,” and so they have been reverted. After rolling things back, Ubisoft will then look at improving matchmaking quality again.

Customization highlights

As for customization highlights within the For Honor 2.09 update patch notes, there’s a new Black Color Swatch Realistic mode reward. This reward is guaranteed by playing any realistic game mode when the playlist is available, and the reward is prioritized for the last hero played.

The addition of the new Realistic mode rewards obviously acts as a tease for the return of the game mode. As acknowledged in the “Developer comments,” players should expect the Realistic game mode to return this season.

Developer comments: The changes done on Skill rating did not improve matchmaking quality. Therefore we are reverting them. Once this issue is resolved we will continue improving the matchmaking quality.
