The latest Fortnite update is being pulled apart by dataminers, who are determined to unearth as much information as possible about upcoming skins, end-of-season events, and more. Also on their “to-leak list” is the new Fortnite Beach Assault limited time mode. This game mode will apparently pit one team against another in an all-out war, with one side trying to cut through to a well-fortified position. Here’s everything you need to know about the Fortnite Beach Assault mode, as well as a potential release date.
Fortnite Beach Assault Limited Time Mode
News of the Fortnite Beach Assault limited time mode has been leaked by dataminer FireMonkey following the Fortnite 2.24 update. While this update introduced the new Storm Flip item, as well as the Sword Fight limited time mode, it also included a number of hidden content drops buried within its files.
FireMonkey noted the “MissionGen_BeachAssault” file name, which allegedly leads to the following Beach Assault description:
The war is almost over. Storm the beach defenses and destroy the doomsday cannon, or stage a last-ditch defense to keep the invaders at bay. Try to protect the objective for 15 minutes.
Anyone familiar with World War II will recognize the similarities between the Beach Assault mission and what happened on D-Day on June 6, 1944.
While the limited time mode might have been inspired by the efforts of brave men during WWII, I doubt that we’ll be seeing the game mode released so close to the D-Day anniversary. With that said, as datamined modes do typically launch a couple of weeks after their discovery, it’s possible that we’ll be seeing Beach Assault added to the game soon.
It’s also possible that the game mode will be tweaked before its release, as a 15-minute defense period seems a little excessive. Perhaps that will be decreased before the limited time mode hits the game.
