The Sims 4 Move Objects cheat

How to activate and use The Sims 4 Move Objects cheat

The Sims 4 remains one of the world’s most popular games, based on how easy to use it is and how much freedom the player has to put together their dream home for their favorite Sims. Nevertheless, sometimes the system fails, and players have to resort to cheating to get things done (gasp). By far the most popular cheat around is The Sims 4 Move Objects cheat, which allows players to move objects to places the game usually doesn’t allow. So it’s more freedom rather than cheating, right? Here’s how to activate it, and how to use it properly.

How to activate The Sims 4 Move Objects cheat

Here’s the great thing about the Move Objects cheat, and the thing that makes us certain that it’s a tool intended for use by the developers rather than a “cheat”: it can be activated on all versions of The Sims 4, even the console versions! Here’s how to start the command menu:

  • PC: hold Ctrl+Shift+C
  • Mac: hold Command+Shift+C
  • PS4 and Xbox One: hold all four shoulder buttons at once

After this, type in “bb.moveobjects on” and close the command line the same way you opened it. The Move Objects cheat is now active. To turn it off again, type in the same code.

How to use The Sims 4 Move Objects cheat

You can now carry on playing The Sims 4 normally, buying and placing items as you want, except with one twist. The cheat is used to place items anywhere in the game, even in places The Sims 4 normally wouldn’t allow. This includes being able to put items closer together, or even overlapping each other, so you can make longer tables or sofa-cabinet combinations. You can also place objects vertically, or on to surfaces you normally can’t. Want to put a toilet in a wardrobe? You can now!

The downside to this fun is that your Sims often won’t be able to interact with your merged items the way you’d want, and sometimes there’s graphical glitches. Still, go out there and experiment, and enjoy your newfound freedom.
