In Dragon Quest Builders 2, Mythril is another resource that you don’t get much help finding. You’ll run into some late-game recipes that call for it, but determining the location of Mythril in Dragon Quest Builders 2 is something you don’t get hardly any clue about. Fortunately, we found out how to get an unlimited supply of Mythril, that is if you’re willing to put the time in.
Dragon Quest Builders 2 Mythril Location
You won’t be able to get your hands on any Mythril until you complete the story up through Moonbrooke. Once you’re through defending the castle and saving the people there, the Sunny Sands explorer island will be available to unlock. Once you’ve saved up 500 Gratitude, you can open up Sunny Sands for travel and start on your way to get Mythril ore.

Unfortunately, Sunny Sands is the only place I’ve found Mythril so far. However, there is a chance it could be located somewhere in Kharumbul-Dun. The tunnels there are extensive, and if there’s anywhere else in the game you can find Mythril, I’d place my bets on it being there.
How to find Mythril in Dragon Quest Builders 2
Once you’ve reached Sunny Sands, you can start combing the island for where you need to go. You need to find a big hole in the ground. Inside these holes, you’ll usually find coal, mushrooms, and a similar atmosphere to the upper tunnels in Kharumbul-Dun. Unfortunately, once you’ve found one of these caves, your journey is just beginning.
Once you’re down in one of the various holes you can find in Sunny Sands, you need to pull out your Echo Flute. After you use the flute, you should see a rainbow-colored note pointing you in the right direction. More than likely, the note will lead you down and to an angle. Start slamming your hammer against the ground and tunnel towards where the note pointed.
Make sure you stop every little bit and play your flute again. There’s not a lot of indicators that you’re getting near your destination except you’ll probably hit some green colored Malachite when you’re about to breach into the tunnel. You can’t really trust the message telling you if you hear the echo from far away or very close. Just keep checking with the flute and follow the note and you’ll get where you need to go.
Eventually, if you keep following the note, you’ll breach into a tunnel. This is where all the hard work pays off. You’ll want to find the little hills of silver, gold, and dyes. If you slam this with your hammer, it’ll all fly off, and you’ll be left with one block remaining that withstood your attack. This will either be a Mythril ore vein or a diamond.
There should be plenty of these lumps of valuable resources located in the tunnel system, and you’ll stock up a ton of Mythril by the time you break them all. If that’s not enough, just leave Sunny Sands and come back. You can repeat the process of using the flute to locate the tunnels as many times as you want.
Fortunately, the recipes that call for Mythril don’t need much. You should get around 20 pieces or so per trip to Sunny Sands, which will last quite a while. The trip should also take care of your silver and gold needs (if you haven’t unlocked unlimited supplies) for the immediate future, so you can build to your heart’s content without worrying about running out of materials.
