Basketball fans, it’s time to learn when the NBA 2K20 preload date is. Not only that, but you’ll want to know what time you can preload on your platform of choice on this date, too. Whether you’ll be playing on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, or Xbox One will also factor into this, so it’s well worth checking out our guide on the matter. Our NBA 2K20 preload date article gives you all of the information you’ll need for your platform of choice, so read on to find out more.
When can I preload NBA 2K20?
According to an FAQ from the game’s developer on the official subreddit, PC, PS4, and Xbox One owners can pre-download the game from Wednesday, September 4. This will give you enough time to get it installed before its September 6 release date.
Curiously, there’s no word on a preload date for Nintendo Switch. As you’ll see from the file size for the Switch below, it’s likely that a preload date isn’t required because the game is so small on Nintendo’s hybrid console.
Even more strange, however, is a lack of preload time information. Developers usually tell you when you can pre-download a game with an official date or time, but this isn’t forthcoming in this Reddit FAQ. If we had to guess, we’d say you can preload NBA 2K20 from midnight (12 AM) on September 4 local time.

As for how much storage you’ll need to install the game, we’ve got you covered on that front too. Xbox One owners will need 44.89 GB of space to download the game, while PS4 players will need 48.66 GB, according to the digital PS4 store. We’re not sure why there’s a 4 GB difference between them, but whatever.
Nintendo Switch users will only need 7 GB of storage space, while PC aficionados will need 49 GB to install it.
