Always scout an area first unless you are absolutely sure of victory, or you may see your army wiped out by a force that you did not expect to be so large.

Try to find buildings or equipment that take the least time to be ready. Leave the time consuming ones for when you’re taking a break. It's best to early on, focus on building up your military.
Attacking surrounding plots is better than attacking other players at the begining.
