If you’re here, you’ll be desperate to know how to get Victini in Pokemon Go. The dual Fire and Psychic-type Pokemon is the Mythical one for Gen 5, but there’s some confusion over when its release date will be. You’ll also want to know if you’ll have to take part in a quest event in order to catch it and add it to your Pokedex. Well, we’re here to offer you some answers about these queries and more. Read our Victini Pokemon Go guide for every ounce of information there is on this cute rabbit critter.
Victini Pokemon Go | Release date
To kick things off, let’s have a gander at when the Victini Pokemon Go release date is. As of the time of writing, there isn’t an official one. Gen 5 Pokemon have only just been added to Niantic’s mobile phone title, and only 24 of those have been patched into the game so far.
With Victini being a Mythical Pokemon, it won’t simply be added to the game with no fanfare. We expect that there will be a big event surrounding its inclusion, which is why we think that a quest event might be in order for when it’s made available in-game.
Victini Pokemon Go | How to get the Gen 5 Mythical Pokemon
As we said, a Victini Pokemon Go special quest event seems like the perfect fit for its arrival. So far, Deoxys is the only Mythical Pokemon that’s actually been available as a raid boss. Mew, Celebi, and Jirachi have all been obtainable through special quests, so it’s almost certain that this is how we’ll be able to get our hands on Victini too.
That said, it could be a long time before Victini is available to acquire. We haven’t seen Gen 4 Mythical Pokemon in Manaphy, Phione, Darkrai, or Arceus turn up yet. If Niantic wants to add these in first, either as quests or raid bosses, it could be a long time before Victin is available too. If we find out for sure, we’ll let you know as soon as possible.
