The Fortnite 2.59 update patch notes (12.00.2) are here. This new update today, February 27, tackles the performance issues that have been impacting the game since the launch of 12.00. Initially, the new Fortnite update will roll out to PS4, but developer Epic Games is aiming to also distribute these performance improvements to PC, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android. Use your system’s “Check for update” function if the patch doesn’t automatically download and install.

After downloading and installing the Fortnite 2.59 update, players should begin to notice performance improvements. Epic Games has specifically said that this new update “addresses performance” after players had submitted “reports of FPS drops since v12.00.”

As mentioned in this article introduction, the 2.59 update is initially being rolled out to the PS4 platform. However, with the FPS drops affecting all platforms (as confirmed on the official Fortnite Trello board), this new patch will eventually be making its way to all other supported platforms. If you don’t see the new update available yet on PC, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, iOS, or Android, rest assured that Epic Games intends to eventually roll it out.

If you’ve downloaded the 2.59 update on PS4, you’ll be able to view the following patch notes by hitting “Update History”:
