WWE 2K Battlegrounds platforms

WWE 2K Battlegrounds Platforms | Coming to PC, PS4, Xbox, Switch, mobile?

Following the cancellation of WWE 2K21, the folk at 2K Games promised an exciting new announcement. Speculation ran rampant over what it could be, though we soon learned that it was WWE 2K Battlegrounds. This arcade-style wrestling game is intended to keep fans busy while the mainline simulation series spends a year on hiatus, but what are the WWE 2K Battlegrounds platforms? Will it be available everywhere that WWE 2K21 presumably would’ve been?

Stick with this guide to learn where you might be able to play WWE 2K Battlegrounds (a.k.a.WWE All-Stars 2) when it releases later this year.

WWE 2K Battlegrounds Platforms | Is it coming to consoles?

WWE 2K Battlegrounds PS4 version

Platforms haven’t been officially confirmed by either 2K or WWE at the time of writing. As such, it isn’t currently possible to confirm or deny that a WWE 2K Battlegrounds PlayStation 4 release will happen.

ALSO: WWE 2K Battlegrounds announced and it’s basically WWE All-Stars 2

As 2K Battlegrounds looks to be a spiritual successor to THQ’s WWE All-Stars (a console game) and is filling the gap left by the cancellation of WWE 2k21 (another console game), it does at least seem likely that it’ll hit Sony’s popular PS4 console.

WWE 2K Battlegrounds Xbox One version

As with the above, no WWE 2K Battlegrounds Xbox One release has been confirmed at this moment in time.

Although there’s nothing official for us to share, it seems likely that Battlegrounds will be available on consoles and Microsoft’s Xbox will be one of the supported platforms.

WWE 2K Battlegrounds Nintendo Switch version

Again, 2K and WWE haven’t made any comment on whether or not a WWE 2K Battlegrounds Nintendo Switch release is in development.

Nintendo’s hybrid portable isn’t a guaranteed destination, however, what with recent mainline WWE 2K titles having skipped over the console after the disaster that was WWE 2K18 on Switch. That being said, the arcade-style gameplay and presentation would likely make for an easier transition to the weaker hardware.

WWE 2K Battlegrounds Platforms | Is it coming to PC?

WWE 2K Battlegrounds platforms

No WWE 2K Battlegrounds PC release has currently been announced. That puts it in the same unconfirmed position as every other platform until more information on the project is forthcoming.

Mainline WWE 2K games are commonly available on Steam, which at least indicates that there’s a demand for wrestling titles on PC. With WWE 2K Battlegrounds essentially serving as a WWE 2K21 stand-in this year, we wouldn’t be surprised to see the game hit personal computers in its place.

WWE 2K Battlegrounds Platforms | Is it coming to mobile (iOS and Android)?

WWE 2K Battlegrounds platforms

Many wrestling fans jumped to the conclusion that WWE 2K Battlegrounds is a mobile game, but that most likely isn’t the case. While there could potentially be 2K Battlegrounds iOS and Android releases in the works, there are already arcade-style WWE mobile games. Another might be overkill and also wouldn’t really help to placate console and PC gamers disappointed by the cancellation of WWE 2K21.
