Is there a Minecraft Dungeons unable to verify game ownership error fix?

Minecraft Dungeons unable to verify game ownership

As of writing, there is no known fix for the Minecraft Dungeons unable to verify game ownership error. Unfortunately, if you have encountered this error, you are unable to play the game. Thankfully, it’s an error present only on the Windows (and Game Pass PC) version of the game, and not for everyone playing on the platform. For the folks who have this error, though, all you can do is wait and try again. There is no fix just yet. Mojang, though, is aware.

Mojang took to Twitter to explain that it is aware of the bug. The developer added that it is working on a fix and thanks “you for your patience” in the meantime. What this means is that there is nothing you can do until it is fixed. It’s not a problem on your end, however, which is good. This is something that Mojang needs to fix, something that is currently being fixed.

It seems the error is a server-based issue. Likely, it’s a simple case of a new game having its servers overloaded at launch. This would explain why some players on PC aren’t having the issue and some are. You can try clicking “Try Again” until the game launches, but it’s just down to luck, it seems. You might get back in right away, it could take a few minutes, it could take a few hours. As bad as it is, hopefully, Mojang is able to implement a fix sooner rather than later.
