The Last of Us 2 Relic of the Sages Trophy requires you to find an item called the Strange Relic to earn it. There’s no clue as to its location, even in the trophy description. Instead, you’ll have to scour the game from top to bottom in search of this artifact.
Fortunately, we’ve found the Strange Relic location in The Last of Us 2. The funny thing is it’s not hard to find. However, it’s located somewhere that’s very simple to overlook if you’re not keeping an eye out for it.
The Last of Us 2 Strange Relic Location
You’ll find the Strange Relic in the Hostile Territory chapter in Abby’s Seattle Day 1 section of the game. You’ll need to proceed through the city until you reach the Chinatown area before you can start looking for the artifact.
To get to the location of the Strange Relic, you’ll need to head into the Ruby Dragon restaurant. Go to the second floor using the steps and kill the infected there. Then, use the ledge outside the opening facing the street to jump across to the second floor of the art store.
When you land on the ledge across the street, head left into the storage room. From there, go through the doorway to the room with a hole leading down to the first floor of the store. Instead of jumping through the hole, make a quick right. You’ll see a table to the right of the boarded-up opening. On this table, you’ll find the Strange Relic.
What does the Strange Relic do in The Last of Us 2?
The egg-shaped Strange Relic doesn’t help you unlock anything. Instead, it’s (fittingly) an easter egg from the Uncharted series. It’s actually a double easter egg as the text on the relic is based on the Precursor language from Jak and Daxter.
You may not unlock any neat in-game stuff with the Strange Relic, but picking it up does net you the Relic of the Sages trophy. That’ll get you one step closer to the coveted platinum in The Last of Us 2.
