Red Dead Redemption 2 Penny Dreadful

Red Dead Redemption 2 Penny Dreadful – Where to Find

The Red Dead Redemption 2 penny dreadful request quest has you searching for a series of penny dreadfuls for Jack, another one of your campmates. Just as with the pocket mirror for Molly quest, these request quests have you searching high and low for small items, only to have to return them to the campmate who asked for them. Alongside bagging you a couple of rewards in-game, you’ll need to complete this quest to unlock the Errand Boy trophy/achievement.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Penny Dreadful – What is the Quest?

You’ll be able to take on Jack’s penny dreadful task as early as Chapter 2, but you can go and find the comic books at any time beforehand if you know where they are. Be warned, however, that Jack will only give you the quest if you talk to him in the daytime, only after you’ve completed the “Fisher of Men” mission. The Otis Miller comic books are a favorite of Jack’s, and finding one of the four and giving it to him will award you with money in the camp’s donation box as well as an item. Completing the quest is but one stage of the Errand Boy trophy/achievement.

The trouble is, the comic books are challenging to find, but you can take any one of four books back to Jack.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Penny Dreadful Locations

Finding a comic book for Jack is made simpler by the fact that you can give him any one of four scattered across the map. This, unfortunately, doesn’t mean that any of the four are easy to find. Below, you’ll see a map for each comic book location, with a red circle highlighting where you’ll find it.

Otis Miller and the Arabian Prince Location

Red Dead Redemption 2 Penny Dreadful

You’ll find Otis Miller and the Arabian Prince in Clawson’s Rest. This cottage with a moss-covered roof is located in the north-east of Valentine, just to the north of the Dakota River and the railroad running alongside it. To find the comic book, simply enter into Clawson’s Rest, turn left, and look upon the dresser next to the bed. You’ll find the Arabian Prince waiting for you right there.

Otis Miller and the Black-Hearted Lady Location

Red Dead Redemption 2 Penny Dreadful

You’ll find Otis Miller and the Black-Hearted Lady in Osman’s Grove. Osman’s Grove is in the New Hanover region of the map, just to the south-east of Emerald Station and Ranch. Located in the Heartlands, you’ll find Osman’s Grove, a shack with a green roof in the middle of a forest. This creepy place is filled with dead bodies and is littered with all of their belongings. Next to the rocking chair, on top of a nightstand in the shack, is where you’ll find the comic book.

Otis Miller and the Boy From New York Location

Red Dead Redemption 2 Penny Dreadful

You’ll find Otis Miller and the Boy From New York hidden inside of the school ruins at Pleasance. It’s a part of the abandoned village right in the center of Lemoyne, just to the north-west of the Bayou River. To find the comic book, you’ll need to look inside the abandoned school and find the classroom. Once inside the classroom, you simply need to find the teacher’s desk (which will be at the front of the room). The presumably confiscated comic book is waiting for you on top of the teacher’s desk. Now, repeat after us: “I shall not read comic books during school.”

Wild West Heroes No.132 Location

Red Dead Redemption 2 Penny Dreadful

You’ll find the Wild West Heroes No.132 (what happened to Otis Miller?) comic book in Downes Ranch. Downes Ranch is located to the south-west of Valentine, within New Hanover. If you’ve found the river from Valentine, then you’ve gone too far. Downes Ranch has a few buildings, so make sure to look in the green farmhouse. Simply enter into Downes Ranch’s green farmhouse, find the bedroom, and look at the nightstand next to the double bed. Your copy of Wild West Heroes No.132 will be waiting for you there.

Once you have found any of the four comic books, simply return back to camp and hand one over to Jack with a tap of the Y or Triangle button. Once this is done, you have completed the quest.
