Deadly Premonition 2 1.0.2 Update Highlights
The version 1.0.2 update is only 287 MB, but it brings with it many important fixes and changes. The framerate, for example, should now be better (especially when using the skateboard). You’ll be glad to hear, however, that the main change has been in the transgender issues the game presents. This should now be changed to something far more palatable.
The framerate has been improved thanks to the 1.0.2 update. However, it has not improved much. According to this tweet from Swery himself, the development team plans “to gradually improve” the game’s framerate. This is simply part one of a multi-part plan for improving and fixing the game’s framerate. Swery adds that the development team is “preparing the next patch after this, ASAP.”
Transgender Scenario Change
The game’s problematic representation of transgender people has been changed, hopefully, for the better. Swery explains in the same tweet (see link above) that he “didn’t change the important point of the story of this work.” The “essence of the game” has not been changed, simply some of the damaging dialogue. New lines of dialogue have replaced the old, but the new lines are not voiced.
There have been other fixes and changes too, such as the game now has a new icon on the Switch home screen. Check it all out below.
