Is there Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning multiplayer? Does the Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning remaster add PvP and/or co-op? Keep scrolling to find out whether there’s Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning cooperative and competitive multiplayer support.
Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning Multiplayer | Is there PvP and co-op?
Much like the original, Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning is a singleplayer game and does not feature multiplayer. There is no KoA: Re-Reckoning co-op or PvP support, be it online or local.
Re-Reckoning is a faithful remake of the underappreciated original; as such, it’s understandable that THQ Nordic has elected not to add multiplayer as a new feature. Not only would this likely have been a huge undertaking, but it could also have upset the game balance and negatively impacted the experience that veteran players so fondly remember.
Is there Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning multiplayer?
- No, KoA: Re-Reckoning does not feature a multiplayer mode.
- Much like the original, there’s no PvP or co-op support in the Kingdoms of Amalur remaster.
It’s been speculated that Re-Reckoning is a means for THQ Nordic to gauge interest in a potential Kingdoms of Amalur sequel. If that is the case and this remaster performs well, perhaps we’ll eventually see Kingdoms of Amalur multiplayer integrated into that game.
While unlikely, it’s also possible that the upcoming Kingdoms of Amalur: Fatesworn expansion could add multiplayer support to Re-Reckoning. As all-new content, there’s no precedent for what could or ‘should’ be included in Fatesworn. While existing fans can protest changes to the original, new content presents an opportunity to experiment.
If you haven’t picked your copy of KoA: Re-Recokoning up yet, you might be wondering if it’s a free update for owners of the original. Since the hardware could probably handle it, you might also be curious if there’s a Nintendo Switch version planned.
