Nioh 2 Darkness in the Capital fire altar locations

Nioh 2 Darkness in the Capital fire altar locations

Knowing the Nioh 2 Darkness in the Capital fire altar locations will yield some healthy stat boosts as well as the “The Flame That Lights the Darkness” trophy. This unlocks after finding all five fire altars in the “Palace of the Damned” mission. So where are the fire altars? And how can you find them? The trophy seems to only pop after finding four out of the five, but here’s how to find all five anyway.

The fire altars are like torches in square holders. You will be given the prompt to light them when you approach them. They provide some stat boosts (increased Amina generation and Ki damage against yokai) so they are worth lighting even if you don’t want the trophy.

Go down the main path and get to this building (fire altar #1)

The first one is hard to miss. Continue down the critical path in the mission and you will quickly come across this gazebo-like building. Go inside to where the arrow is pointing.

Get inside the building with the Dark Realm (fire altar #2)

You will soon stumble across a building in the Dark Realm. It will have a Oboroguruma (the head in the carriage you need for the “Behind the Bamboo Blinds” trophy) in it and some other enemies. Find the path the arrow is pointing to.

Go up the path with crystal spikes on it (fire altar #2)

Go up that path to the next floor in the building.

The altar will be down that path, which you should see and light.

Go into the building in the cave (fire altar #3)

After the first boss fight of the stage, you’ll be in a cave. You will quickly find yourself in front of the doors in the picture. Open them.

Check that room for the fire altar (fire altar #3)

The fire altar is right inside that room in that building right before the Dark Realm. It can be easy to miss since is right opposite of the “doorway” to the Dark Realm.

Go to the building with the big crystal rock (fire altar #4)

The next altar is in the room with the big rock crystal. Go to the corner that the arrow is pointing to.

Go to one of the corners (fire altar #4)

Go over to this fire altar and light it up. Despite how it’s right in the open, it’s very easy to miss.

Go to the building right outside of the Nue fight (fire altar #5)

Nioh 2 Darkness in the Capital fire altar locations

You will eventually have to go into the big building in the picture to fight Nue, the electric beast. Don’t go inside yet.

Go around the left side of the building (fire altar #5)

Go around to the left side of the building and up the stone ramp.

Go into the building on the second level and light it up (fire altar #5)

Once you go up the ramp, you will see the final fire altar in the same building as the Nue fight, but it will be right above the arena.

Light it up (fire altar #5)

Now just light it up and you’re good to go.
