Cyberpunk 2077 is the most anticipated game of the year, though that doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s appropriate for children. This Cyberpunk 2077 parents’ guide will cover all of the adult content featured in CD Projekt RED’s latest title. Based on that, parents and guardians can decide whether or not this game is appropriate for their child or children. Information on the Cyberpunk 2077 age rating is also included.

Deciding whether or not kids should play the latest video game releases is a difficult task. When all of a child’s friends are playing they can feel left out, though, in some cases, parents need to stand firm on specific age-inappropriate content. Ultimately, it’s an individual decision to make based on the maturity of the child in question. Here’s all the information to help inform that important decision.

Cyberpunk 2077 is rated M for Mature, which indicates that the ESRB deems it appropriate for players aged 17+. The game features intense violence with blood and gore, strong language, strong sexual content and nudity, and the use of drugs and alcohol. As a whole, the game features a gritty, grimy atmosphere that is not generally appropriate for kids.

It’s possible to dismember enemies during combat, which causes blood-splatter effects and cries of agony. Meanwhile, players can purchase sexual services from prostitutes before watching a first-person cutscene depicting various sex acts. There are also genital customization options during the character creation process. Characters within the world are seen taking illicit drugs, while the player is able to drink alcohol and then drunk drive. As far as swearing goes, the words “f***” and “c**t” appear alongside others in spoken dialogue.

In the realm of gaming, Cyberpunk 2077 is about as adult as it gets. The law doesn’t prohibit children below the 17+ age guideline from playing, though parents and guardians should make an informed decision on whether it’s appropriate for their child or not based on the above.
