Fans are anticipating a Wonder Egg Priority Season 2 release date since the series just finished its first run. We were left with more questions than answers after the appearance of a second Ai and yet another attack by Frill’s creations. Given the series’s breakout popularity and lack of conclusion, many assume a second season will be created. However, that won’t be the case.
When will Wonder Egg Priority Season 2 release?
As of now, Wonder Egg Priority is not set to receive a second season. Episode 12 was (technically) the series finale. A special episode will air on June 30, 2021, but its length and content are unknown as of now. This special episode may be the proper conclusion of Wonder Egg Priority, or it may serve as an epilogue.
Wonder Egg Priority is an original anime production, so there’s no manga to give us a clue on how the series could end. Given the tumultuous production of the series, it’s unlikely that there’ll be a season two. Additionally, as an original production, it was probably planned to be 12+1 episodes from the beginning.
If there ever is a Wonder Egg Priority season 2, it’ll likely feature a new set of main characters. It seems as though it’s intended for Ai, Neiru, Rika, and Momoe’s story to conclude. This might be confusing for some since the (seemingly) true antagonist of the series was just revealed in episode 11. It also seems odd that Acca and Ura-Acca seemingly referred to a larger conflict between the Forces of Eros (life) and the Forces of Thanatos (death). Of course, they could have just been referring to Freudian theory, but it did seem to be leading into something more.
We’ll have to wait until June to find out what’s in store for Wonder Egg Priority. Again, there’s no indication that a second season will be produced, but anything is possible in the world of anime.
