Subnautica Below Zero: How to recharge Seatruck

The Seatruck is one of the most important tools in Subnautica Below Zero. It provides air, shelter, and eventually even operates as an entirely mobile base. However, all of its components require electricity, meaning it will eventually run out of power. How can you recharge the Seatruck? As it turns out, you have a couple of options.

The Seatruck in Subnautica Below Zero can be charged at the Moonpool. However, in the early game, most players will find it easier to simply recharge the Seatruck’s Power Cells.

In other words, it’s probably better not to ask how to recharge the Seatruck, but rather how to charge the Seatruck’s batteries. The Moonpool may have been a necessity in the original Subnautica, but in Below Zero, not so much.

If you look closely, there are two round slots at the front of the Seatruck’s cabin. These house the vehicle’s two Power Cells. One of these was required to craft the vehicle itself, while the other comes as a bonus for actually building it.

Thankfully, it’s possible to remove and recharge these Power Cells same as you would for the Batteries in your various tools. Approach the Seatruck, then interact with the Power Cell to remove it.

From there, you can recharge the Power Cells using the Power Cell Charger. This appliance is built using the Habitat Builder, and requires one Advanced Wiring Kit, two Lithium, and two Titanium to craft. If you haven’t found it yet, the Power Cell Charger blueprint can be acquired at Outpost Zero, the same place you’ll find the Habitat Builder.

Once the Power Cells are full again, place them back into their respective slots. Viola, you have successfully recharged the Seatruck. And you didn’t even have to build a bulky Moonpool to do it, either.

It’s worth keeping a few fully charged Power Cells around in case you ever run your Seatruck’s batteries flat. This is especially true if you’re using the Prawn Suit Docking Module, which will charge the Prawn Suit through the Seatruck’s batteries. Otherwise, you can simply recharge the Seatruck at the Moonpool.
