The PayDay 2 controls follow a button mapping scheme similar to most first-person shooters. However, small differences between keyboard controls and console buttons may confuse players more familiar with other game series.

Don’t worry; we’ve got you covered. Check out the following table for a comprehensive list of all PayDay 2 controls. PC key bindings are found in the left column, while console controls are featured in the rightmost columns. Note that some functions, such as the quick text chat, aren’t available in console versions of the game.

All things considered, there aren’t too many surprises in the PayDay 2 control scheme. Curiously, the function that seems to slip most players up involves melee attacks. PC players have a dedicated button for a melee attack, whereas console players must click the right joystick inward. The catch, of course, is that you hold the button to charge melee attacks; the attack itself doesn’t complete until you release the button. This results in a sort of awkward dance to keep the camera under control while also performing a melee successfully.

Hopefully this information helps you get a little more control over your actions in PayDay 2.
