Zelda Skyward Sword Party Wheel: When does it unlock?

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD gives fans a chance to relive one of Link’s greatest adventures. Some players may remember the experience from before, but others are approaching the game with fresh eyes. Either way, it’s possible you’re already likely aware of the Party Wheel and the minigame offered by Dodoh. But when does the Party Wheel unlock?

When does the Party Wheel unlock in Skyward Sword?

The Party Wheel in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword unlocks after repairing Scrapper. This occurs around the middle of the game, after exploring Lanayru Desert but before returning to Faron Woods in search of the Sacred Flames.

In other words, you won’t have to worry about finding the Party Wheel until a fair way into the game. Otherwise, you can expect for this side quest to kick off shortly after leaving the Lanayru Mining Facility.

After you’ve cleared the Mining Facility, the young Hero of Time will eventually make his way to The Light Tower in Skyloft. After talking to Gaepora, you’ll bump into an NPC named Jakamar who urges you to speak with Gondo. At the Bazaar, Gondo tells you that he needs an Ancient Flower to repair the robot Scrapper. Hand one over, and the next step of the process begins.

Scrapper is used in part of the Fun Fun Island side quests. Dodoh, the owner of the island will tell you about another side quest that can’t be accessed because the Party Wheel is missing. It’s up to you to find it. Thankfully, it’s not hard to locate: It’s out near the bird statue in the Lanayru Desert entrance. You’ll need to use the Timeshift Stone and do some light platforming, but you’ll eventually spot the Party Wheel half-buried in the sand.

Take the Party Wheel back to Fun Fun Island. Once returned, Dodoh will unlock his latest minigame and give you five gratitude crystals for your trouble. If you need any more help with Nintendo’s latest HD port, be sure to check out our selection of Skyward Sword guides.
