Back 4 Blood Friendly Fire

Back 4 Blood Friendly Fire: Can I damage and kill teammates?

Back 4 Blood is already an intense zombie-killing game without the need to worry about teammates shooting each other in the back. Whether accidentally or on purpose, dishing damage out against fellow players is only going to end in tears and mission failures. So, what’s the deal with Back 4 Blood friend fire? Can players damage and kill other teammates? Here’s a guide to explain it all.

Does Back 4 Blood have friendly fire enabled?

Back 4 Blood Friendly Fire

Back 4 Blood has friendly fire enabled on the harder difficulties. Players will want to choose “Recruit” difficult to turn off friendly fire.

However, even on the Recruit difficult, player characters will scream and shout about friendly fire. Though they aren’t taking damage, the game still lets players know when they are shooting teammates. This encourages discipline when acquiring targets and lets players get used to avoiding teammates. This will help enormously when the time comes to increase the difficulty.

Of course, some players will find the shouting about friendly fire very annoying and want to turn it off. Perhaps this will be an option added by the developers during the beta or further into the game’s development.

Either way, it’s probably best to avoid spraying and praying into teammates as ammo is quite scarce and there are plenty of zombies to target instead.

Pay attention to which difficulty the game is on to know whether or not friendly fire is enabled. Better yet, just don’t shoot teammates. Be ready to apologize for any accidental misfires!
