The Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean anime finally has a release date, and it’s sooner than anticipated. At Shueisha and Warner Bros. Japan Anime revealed the first trailer for the series overnight, and we got info on when Stone Ocean will debut, where it’ll be streamed, and who the Japanese voice cast is. Unfortunately, we don’t have details on the English dub just yet, but we can anticipate when we can expect it to be released.
What’s the release date of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean, and when will the English dub be available?
Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean will release worldwide in December 2021 on Netflix. This marks the first time in the franchise’s history where a series debuts as an Original Net Animation. This will also be the first time a Jojo series releases in all territories simultaneously.
It’s possible that Netflix may debut the subbed version of Stone Ocean and add a dubbed version later. However, since the series is releasing an episode weekly instead of the whole thing at once, we’d bet that it’ll be getting a simuldub. The big question is whether Netflix will be using its internal team or if Viz Media will continue dubbing Jojo. There aren’t that many characters from other Jojo series that make an appearance in Stone Ocean, but fans will want to see those voice actors return.
Fortunately, we do know the (partial) Japanese voice cast for Stone Ocean:
- Jolyne Cujoh: Ai Fairouz
- Ermes Costello: Mutsumi Tamura
- Foo Fighters: Mariya Ise
- Emporio Alniño: Atsumi Tanezaki
- Weather Report: Yuichiro Umehara
- Narciso Anasui: Daisuke Namikawa
- Jotaro Cujoh: Daisuke Ono
So far, this looks like it’s shaping up to be another fantastic rendition of Jojo. We don’t have an episode count yet, but we can assume there’ll be 39 since the Stone Ocean manga is 17 volumes long, just like Golden Wind. Luckily, we won’t have long to wait. December is only four months away.
