Dead By Daylight ranks not showing fix

Is there a problem with Dead By Daylight ranks not showing? Any players logging into the game now may notice a problem in the form of a Dead By Daylight ranking error, which basically means that whenever the player goes to play a match online no ranks will appear. Is there a fix for the Dead By Daylight player ranks not appearing error, or is this actually a new feature the developer is testing for the game?

Is there a Dead By Daylight ranking bug?

Dead By Daylight ranks

There are no bugs or errors with the Dead By Daylight ranking system, as the reason player ranks aren’t showing is because developer Behaviour Interactive is temporarily testing the new SBMM (skill-based matchmaking) system. The new SBMM removes player ranks and uses a hidden skill rating to determine to matchmake, as opposed to rank.

Fortunately, the SBMM system is only up for testing purposes right now, and developer Behaviour Interactive says it’ll only be in the game until this Monday, August 16. While Behaviour says that the system will go “live permanently someday,” once the testing period is over, all ranks will return to normal and start appearing next to player’s names in the lobby once again.

Is my Dead By Daylight player rank gone?

While the SBMM test in Dead By Daylight has temporarily removed ranks, the player’s rank is still the same behind the scenes. Once the test is over on August 16, all ranks will return to normal — although Behaviour Interactive warns that there may be a player rank reset coming up, so it may decrease slightly.

The most recent big addition to Dead By Daylight was the Resident Evil crossover DLC and subsequent updates, although these brought with them further problems. Of course, it’s not the only horror-based co-op game around — Aliens: Fireteam Elite is out this month and will get at least a year’s worth of post-launch DLC support, and the Back 4 Blood beta has proven a big success.
