Negan is the current wildcard of the series, and many fans are surprised he made it this far. He’s gone from the series’ worst villain to something resembling an anti-hero, and now Negan is fighting alongside people who once considered him their worst enemy. The reaper might have passed him over so far, but fans are wondering whether Negan will die in The Walking Dead Season 11.
Does Negan die in The Walking Dead Season 11?
Negan is alive as of The Walking Dead Season 11, Episode 5.
Plenty of main characters died suddenly during the course of the show. In particular, Abraham and Gene died at the hands of Negan. Negan led his gang, the Saviors, against Hilltop, Alexandria, and The Kingdom for two and a half seasons. It was assumed that someone would kill him in the aftermath, but he was instead taken captive by the Alexandrians.
Though the communities gave him a life sentence, Negan only did seven and a half years in jail before being conscripted by Carol to infiltrate the Whisperers and kill their leader, Alpha. Though he takes a while to complete his task, he manages to do so. He later runs interference while Daryl kills Beta.
Unfortunately for Negan, just as he gains his freedom and begins to gain the acceptance of the Alexandrians, Maggie returns. Carol tries to convince Negan to leave before Maggie decides to kill him, but after some soul searching, he decides to stay.
In Season 11 of The Walking Dead, Negan is, ironically, paired with Maggie as she starts her quest to retake Meridian. Unfortunately, despite starting with a sizable group, they incur casualties in an attack by The Reapers, and it eventually is down to Maggie and Negan to accomplish the mission.
We put Negan’s chance of surviving the final season as pretty slim. However, his character development so far has him poised to make a heroic sacrifice to redeem himself finally, and we wouldn’t be surprised if he does so saving Maggie.
