Cad Bane
The biggest rumor that’s been going around is that the show will include the first live-action appearance of notorious bounty hunter Cad Bane, who was introduced in The Clone Wars Season 2. Bane’s most recent appearance in the first season of The Bad Batch brought him face to face with Fennic Shand (Ming-Na Wen), who will play a major role in The Book of Boba Fett — so it makes sense for Cad Bane to want a rematch. With Clone Wars showrunner Dave Filoni already having brought two animated characters to life (Bo-Katan and Ahsoka Tano) in The Mandalorian, Cad Bane seems a safe bet.

According to Den of Nerds on YouTube, both Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) and baby Grogu will make an appearance on the show in an unspecified capacity, including possibly Din Djarin/The Mandalorian (Pedro Pascal) himself. Given Fett is trying to take over and rebuild Jabba the Hutt’s crime syndicate — which Luke Skywalker helped take down — not to mention camping out on Luke’s home planet of Tatooine, it does make sense. Grogu is currently staying with Luke to train at the doomed Jedi Academy, and the little baby Yoda was actually spotted on some production shirts for Book of Boba Fett.
Will there be a Season 2?
It has not yet been confirmed by Lucasfilm or Disney whether The Book of Boba Fett will be a single-season series like Marvel’s WandaVision or whether it will stretch to Season 2. Leaked production crew stickers for the show sport “season 1” on several, which suggests the team is already planning for more. Furthermore, press releases for the show all refer to it as a straight series, whereas single-season productions have previously been referred to as “event” or “limited” series. It seems highly likely that The Book of Boba Fett will at least get to Season 2, which Lucasfilm may alternate with The Mandalorian.
