Is Windows 11 safe to use yet?

Those who are thinking of upgrading are wondering if Windows 11 is safe to use yet. Updating to a new OS is usually a big deal, and some past Windows launches have been disastrous. Fortunately, in the past, Microsoft has issued fixes that smoothed out any early problems. However, with the launch of Windows 11 being so recent, people are still antsy about installing it.

Is it safe to upgrade to Windows 11 yet?

If Windows 10 works well on a user’s computer and it meets the system requirements, it should be safe to upgrade to Windows 11.

Some previous Windows versions were vastly different from their predecessors. This led to significant issues when users upgraded, including data loss and driver and program incompatibility. Fortunately, Windows 11 is pretty much just a big update for Windows 10 as opposed to a radically different OS. This means aside from the cosmetic changes; almost everything works the same way.

While we’ve run into an error or two, these were easily corrected. Aside from that, there have not been any program or game compatibility issues. If it works on Windows 10, it’ll work on Windows 11. There are also some new gaming features that Windows 11 brings that make the upgrade worth it.

The biggest issue users will face with Windows 11 is its odd system requirements. Microsoft walked back the need for computers to have TPM 2.0, but that might not be permanent. However, those that have new computers should be fine.

We’ve been using Windows 11 as our daily driver for a while as part of the Windows Insider Program, and aside from some odd UI choices, it’s been just fine. As we said above, there aren’t a lot of exciting changes or new functionality, so users are mostly getting a cosmetic update when installing the new OS. On the flip side, Windows 10 will continue to get updates for the foreseeable future, so users can feel free to update or not.
