Dying Light 2 Saves: How to save game

Make enough progress in Dying Light 2 and you’re likely to start getting antsy. Not because of constant peril, but because of that common subconscious impulse to save your game. After all, if you die now, you might lose out on weapons, items, or overall progress, right? So, the question is obvious: How do you save your game in Dying Light 2?

How to Save in Dying Light 2

There is no manual game save function in Dying Light 2. Instead, the game uses an auto-save system that automatically backs up your current progress. If needed, you can force the game to save your progress by fast traveling or sleeping in a bed.

Toward the start of your quest, you’ll most likely save through normal activity or by sleeping. Naturally, sleeping is also the way to pass game time. By going to sleep during the night, you’ll save your progress and wake up in the morning. If you sleep during the day, you’ll awake at night.

Of course, you’ll eventually reach a point where your expeditions will grow in scale. This is around the point where you’ll unlock fast travel. After that, any time you use a Metro Station to travel around the map, your game will be saved automatically.

In other words, the save system works like just about any other modern triple-A release. The auto-save system in Dying Light 2 backs up your progress at specific points during the action. If you do die, you won’t have to worry about losing too much progress. And if you just want to ensure your progress isn’t lost, there’s no harm in forcing a save by sleeping or fast traveling.
