The Boys Season 3 Who is Soldier Boy

The Boys Season 3: Who is Soldier Boy?

The trailer for The Boys Season 3 revealed that a superhero known as Soldier Boy would appear this time around. But who is he, and what makes him tick? Will he be as diabolical as Homelander, or is he one of the few altruistic supes? We’ll have to wait for the new season to air to find out for sure. However, some hints about who Soldier Boy is and what he’s like have been sprinkled throughout the show.

Who is Soldier Boy in The Boys?

Soldier Boy is among the first generation of superheroes created by Frederick Voight. We know that he participated in World War 2 thanks to a quote by Stan Edgar in Season 2, Episode 1, “The Big Ride:”

“Doctor Vought already had practical applications of Compound V tested in the field. Heroes like Soldier Boy, killing Germans by the dozen.”

A tweet from the Vought International teaser account also says that an executive order was drafted in The Boys universe to make April 28 Soldier Boy Day. However, Soldier Boy asked that the holiday be called National Superhero Day instead. His statue is also located outside Vought Tower.

However, despite all the praise that Vought and the government heap on him, Soldier Boy is seen emerging from a tank in the trailer. Obviously, he was in some sort of stasis for who knows how many years. Showrunner Eric Kripke has stated he was “Homelander before Homelander,” so what’s the deal?

While we don’t know all the details, someone incapacitated Soldier Boy at some point, and, at the very best, no one cared to rescue him. However, it’s very likely that Vought wanted him right where he ended up. It’s possible he was even more out of control than Homelander.

We’ll learn more about Soldier Boy when The Boys Season 3 premiers on June 3 on Amazon Prime Video. We’ll go ahead and guess that he’s not going to be anyone’s friend by the time everything is said and done.
