MultiVersus Not Loading: How to Fix Stuck ‘Syncing Account State’ Screen

You’ve been waiting for ages to get into MultiVersus but you’re stuck on a loading screen with a Syncing Account State error message. What can you do to solve the problem? Well, if it isn’t an issue with the game’s servers that can only be fixed by Player First Games or WB Games, we have a few steps to try that could get you back into the game.

What’s happening when MultiVersus gets stuck in a loading loop?

MultiVersus Syncing Account State Fix

When players are loading up MultiVersus, several messages flash by in the bottom corner of the screen. One of those is the Syncing Account State message. At this point, the game is trying to retrieve a player’s account details, including progress and unlocks. Due to the game’s cross-play functionality, this data is stored on servers and not on your console/PC, and it is the connection to the servers that is proving to be the problem when the game gets stuck on the Syncing Account State loading screen. Player First Games issued a fix for this error on July 19, but it still manages to persist today.

How to Fix the MultiVersus Syncing Account State issue

The MultiVersus Syncing Account State infinite loading loop can sometimes occur when the game’s servers are overcrowded or having issues. To check whether this is the case, you can check the game’s Twitter account and Discord server for any announcements. It may also be wise to check that your account’s permissions are correct on the WB Games website. If there are no server issues and your account seems fine, you can try these steps to fix the problem:

  1. Close and restart MultiVersus
  2. Reboot your console or PC
  3. Test your internet connection to make completely sure there are no problems with your connection
  4. If playing on console, make sure you have the latest console software installed
  5. If playing on PC, make sure all of your drivers are updated

If none of the above solutions help to fix the “Syncing Account State” error, you can report a bug via the MultiVersus official website.
