These headphones upgrade just about everything from the original. Sound quality, noise cancellation, and battery life are all improved. There are some nifty new features as well. For example, you can now control volume via touch controls, and the AirPods Pro 2 is the second model in the AirPods lineup (with the Max being the first) to have access to Apple’s spatial audio technology.

The first generation AirPods Pro saw a significant discount with the announcement of the new model. The original version is still an excellent product. If you don’t care about the new features that come with the AirPods Pro 2, there’s no sense in paying an extra $70. As stated above, the two are almost identical in form factor, so neither has an advantage when it comes to comfort.
