Babylon's Fall Delisted Servers Going Offline

Babylon’s Fall Delisted and Ending Service Less Than a Year After Release

Service is ending for Babylon’s Fall less than a year after it launched. The game released on March 3, 2022, and the servers will be shut down on February 27, 2023. Unfortunately, when this happens, the game will be rendered completely unplayable.

Babylon’s Fall servers going down in February 2023

Babylon’s Fall is one of the biggest AAA failures of all time, so it’s not a huge surprise that its being shut down. PlatinumGames fans were apprehensive about it being a live service title, and it got a cold reception from critics and influencers. On Steam it reached an all-time high of 1,166 concurrent players before quickly shrinking into double-digits. As of writing there are 6 people playing the game on PC.

Despite poor sales, Square Enix and PlatinumGames made a commitment to the future of the game. However, at this point there’s probably more devs working on Babylon’s Fall than there are players across all platforms. So, it’s understandable that they’re calling it quits.

Sales of premium currency ended today, and the game has been delisted from storefronts. The second season of content will be allowed to continue and will be followed by a final season to cap off the game. The plug will be pulled on Monday, February 27, 2023 at 11:00 p.m. PST at which point all gameplay data on the servers will be deleted and the game will be completely unaccessible.

In other news, the Zelda: Breath of the Wild sequel got an official name, and Fire Emblem Engage was revealed.
