Live Activities Release Date iOs 16-1

iOS 16 Live Activities Release Date

Live Activities share a release date with iOS 16.1, which should release sometime in October. The new version of iOS is already in beta, and developers are working on bringing the feature to many apps.

When will Live Activities be added to iOS 16?

Live Activities will release alongside iOS 16.1. The third beta of iOS 16.1 is available as of writing. That means it’s well on its way to its debut, and we expect to see the full version launch sometime in October 2022.

All models of the iPhone that run iOS 16 will have access to Live Activities, but iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max will get a special implementation of them thanks to the Dynamic Island. They’ll also be available to use on the new lockscreen that was introduced in the latest version of the operating system.

Some examples that we’ve seen so far are:

  • Baseball and football scores that continually update with the game.
  • Live Uber pickup updates.
  • Live updates for food delivery.

The point of these pseudo-widgets is that they’re transient. Apple’s guidelines tell developers they should last no longer than eight hours. So, don’t expect them to have a permanent home. Instead, they showcase something you want to actively pay attention to without the need to open up an app.
