There are several unlocks in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, none more prestigious than Gold Mario. It goes without saying that unlocking Gold Mario is no easy task.
To add Gold Mario to your roster, you need to obtain gold medals in every 200cc cup on Grand Prix. This is the fastest and most challenging difficulty, requiring tremendous driving skills to achieve.
A gold medal doesn't require you to earn maximum points in a cup. You only need to win or tie in first place on each cup for it to count.
Upon earning gold medals in each 200cc cup you will unlock Gold Mario for use in single-player and multiplayer.
