Last Epoch: How to Unlock Mastery

In Last Epoch, you must acquire Mastery, a level of knowledge that allows you to push your character’s talents to their limits and become a formidable force.

Within Last Epoch, players are presented with the opportunity to select from a roster of five Base Classes with their respective three unique Mastery Classes :

  • Sentinel: Paladin, Forge guard, Void knight.
  • Acolyte: Warlock, Lich, Necromancer.
  • Rogue: Falconer, Marksman, Bladedancer.
  • Primalist: Shaman, Beastmaster, Druid.
  • Mage: Runemaster, Spellblade, Sorcerer.

Unlocking access to these Mastery Classes depends upon players advancing through the game. Note that once a Mastery has been selected, it cannot be changed.

How do you unlock Mastery in Last Epoch?

Enhancing the customization of each Base Class is the key to choosing a Mastery Class in Last Epoch. It enables players to make a secondary decision that improves their character with a specialized set of skills and abilities drawn from the broader range available within the Base Class.

Base points

In Last Epoch, every character begins with access to the base class tree. To unlock the Mastery trees, you need to allocate 20 points in the base class tree initially which can be gained by completing quests and leveling up. Once this requirement is met, simply click the “Unlock Masteries” button to gain entry to the Mastery trees.

Further Progression

Completing numerous missions and conquering challenges is required to progress to Chapter 4, where Masteries can be unlocked.

During Chapter 4, you will find the End of Time quest. Completing this quest is critical since it sets the stage for progressing further toward unlocking Mastery Classes. After completing the End of Time quest, you will be required to speak to the Forgotten Knight. If she does not provide the Power of Mastery quest, you will have to speak with a character indicated with a gold marker over his head named Elder Gaspar. Following communication with him, you will be provided with the decision of choosing a Mastery Class.
