Fortnite Proximity Chat Not Working

Fortnite Proximity Chat Not Working: Has It Been Removed?

Fortnite proximity chat was removed from the game and is no longer working. Proximity chat was used in the limited-time Impostors game mode, which allows players to talk to one another, despite not being in the same squad. However, it has since been removed and players can no longer talk to enemies outside of their own squad.

Will Fortnite proximity chat come back and be added again?

Fortnite proximity chat is likely to come back to the game at some stage. Game modes like Impostors could be added and use proximity chat as a key part of the gameplay.

With games like Warzone 2 implementing proximity chat and being praised for it, it would only be natural for competing battle royale games to take that idea and add proximity chat to their own games.

While developer Epic Games hasn’t confirmed that it’s working on adding proximity chat back into Fortnite, many players expect the feature to eventually return. After all, it was well-received as part of the Impostors mode and is clearly built and ready for redeployment.
