Hogwarts Legacy Moth Mirror Puzzle

Hogwarts Legacy Moth Mirror Puzzle: How to Activate the Butterfly Mirrors

You’ll come across moth mirrors in Hogwarts Legacy that serve as a small puzzle. To solve them, you have to find the nearby moth (which looks a lot like a butterfly) and guide it over to the mirror, at which point it’ll return home, and you’ll get a guide page. However, the hard part is finding out how the moth mirrors work in the first place.

How to solve the moth mirror puzzles in Hogwarts Legacy

Hogwarts Legacy Moth Butterfly Puzzle

To solve the moth mirror puzzles in Hogwarts Legacy, follow these steps:

  • First, stand in front of the mirror and cast Lumos to activate it.
  • The mirror will show you a nearby location, which is where the moth will be located.
  • Head to the spot that the mirror shows and find the moth.
  • Cast Lumos near it, and it’ll follow you.
  • Once near the mirror, deactivate Lumos.

Once you lead the moth to the mirror and turn off Lumos, it will land in the indent on the mirror. Then, the mirror will reward you with a field guide page and disappear.

The moth mirrors are scattered throughout Hogwarts Legacy, but they’re never too hard to solve. As a rule, the moth’s location is always nearby, and you can “cheat” by activating Lumos and walking around. Even if you don’t see the moth, it’ll be attracted to your wand as long as the spell is active.
