Sons of the Forest Hotkey Weapons Quick Select Backpack

Sons of the Forest: How to Hotkey Weapons With the Backpack

You can’t hotkey weapons in Sons of the Forest, but there is a way to set them to quick select. You can use the backpack in your inventory to easily access a few items, but you must select them in advance. Unfortunately, this isn’t quite as useful as hotkeying a weapon directly, but it is quicker than going into your inventory each time.

Can you hotkey weapons in Sons of the Forest with the backpack?

Sons of the Forest Hotkey Items Backpack

You can’t currently hotkey weapons or items in Sons of the Forest, but you can add them to a quick-select inventory. To do so:

  • Open your inventory.
  • Click on your backpack at the upper right part of the screen.
  • Remove any items you don’t want (the default selection is pretty useless).
  • Pick some items to add to the backpack.
  • Exit your inventory.

Once you’ve added your desired items to your backpack in Sons of the Forest, you can hold the “I” key to bring it up. Then, you can easily equip a weapon or use an item.

The backpack has limited slots, so you’ll want to put your most frequently used gear in it. It also has a major disadvantage compared to the regular inventory in single-player. Time doesn’t stop when you use it like it does with your main inventory.

So that’s how to (sort of) hotkey weapons and gear in Sons of the Forest. Now, see how to use those zip lines you’ve likely been carrying around for most of the game.
