Octopath Traveler 2 Missables

Octopath Traveler 2 Missables: Are There Missable Items, Characters, and Dialogue?

New Octopath Traveler 2 players are no doubt wondering if there are any missable items, quests, or Trophies/Achievements. Missing a crucial item can ruin a playthrough, so it’s wise to search and find out if there’s anything to watch out for while you play.

Octopath Traveler 2 Missables List: What can you miss?

Missable items

Missable items in Octopath Traveler 2 include:

  • Worker Jacket in Chapter 1
  • Aegis Shield in Chapter 1

Some “missable items” are eventually purchasable. However, players will probably want to know about them ahead of time so that they can use them earlier.

Missable characters

  • First character choice
    • Once you’ve chosen your first character, you cannot change that character until you’ve beaten their story.
    • This means you should be absolutely certain about which character you want to play before starting.
  • Akala or Mahina choice
    • Akala can reveal weapon weaknesses.
    • Mahina can reveal elemental weaknesses.
    • You cannot recruit the other character at all once you’ve chosen, so be sure of what you want.

Missable dialogue

Octopath Traveler 2 has missable dialogue.

There are branching scenes with different dialogue that come up whenever you have to make a choice. These alternate scenes aren’t particularly important or world-shattering, but if you want to see them then you should save the game before doing these sections.

Other than that you can just enjoy Octopath Traveler 2 at your leisure. Firstly though, you should check if Octopath Traveler 2 is a sequel and how long the game is.
