Sons of the Forest Do trees grow back

Sons of the Forest: Do Trees Grow Back?

It’s unknown right now whether trees grow back in Sons of the Forest. If you plan to make a permanent base, you’ll quickly clear-cut tons of timber. Eventually, you’ll find yourself roaming further away from safety to get more logs, which negates the whole purpose of building a base in the first place. Some people say the trees regenerate from stumps like in the original game, while others claim saplings will grow over time into trees. So far, I’ve made it to day 15 and haven’t seen a single new tree.

Will trees grow back in Sons of the Forest after I cut them down?

I haven’t seen any evidence that trees grow back in Sons of the Forest. However, it’s possible that it’s just an extremely slow process. So far, we’ve seen two theories about how trees grow back in the game:

Some players say trees grow back in Sons of the Forest over time from saplings. According to them, trees and brush you cut down will slowly regenerate. So you don’t have to worry about running out of logs. You can just wait, and eventually, any harvested trees will grow back.

Alternatively, some are saying that it works like it did in the original The Forest. In that game, stumps have a random chance to grow back into a tree while you’re sleeping. But, again, we haven’t seen this happening, and there’s a chance that tree growth mechanics aren’t in the game yet.

However it works, just make sure not to drop a tree on Kelvin or Virginia.
